How to get there

King, Royal, Gentoo and Rockhopper There are many colonies around the island. Lusitania Bay boasts around 250,000 pairs of King Penguins and Sandy Bay has a good sized and accessible Royal colony (providing you have permission to land). You can only get to Macquarie Island by ship. There are few ships that visit the Island, the Klebnikov visits once a year as does the Bremen.
